Of all the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, we think Planet Hollywood stands leagues above all else when it comes to budget-friendly things to do on a resort property. After all, it’s connected to a 475,000 square-foot shopping space called Miracle Mile Shops which contains more than 170 stores, as well as tons of affordable restaurants and bars.
Since Las Vegas is practically our second home, we’ve explored Planet Hollywood more times than we can count. In fact, this was my hotel of choice when I was in my early 20s! The hotel was equally as hip and youthful as it was affordable — there was a lot to love about PH.
If you’re visiting Las Vegas for the first time or don’t plan on returning to Vegas over and over again, you should carve out a couple of hours to explore the hotel and its large number of dining/drinking establishments.
For starters, you absolutely need to grab yourself a Fat Tuesday at the location inside Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops — it’s the most iconic location on the entire Strip! If you’re hankering for a sandwich that’s anything but basic, Earl of Sandwich is your jam. Craving a burger fit for a king (or a famous chef, in this case)? Hit up Gordon Ramsay Burger.
Want to catch a larger-than-life magic show while you’re in town? PH is home to Criss Angel’s MINDFREAK. You can also hop on over to the Miracle Mile Shops’ V Theater for just about a dozen other budget-friendly shows!
Even considering what I listed above — we’ve barely just scratched the surface! Like I said, there’s a lot to look forward to at this hip and approachable hotel.
Here are our top recommended things to do at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas for the full experience.
Things To Do Inside Planet Hollywood
Aside from the 2,500 hotel rooms spread across its 37 floors, Planet Hollywood is home to a massive gaming space and a lot of other things you could do.
Criss Angel MINDFREAK
Prepare to be captivated by the unparalleled magic mastery of the legendary superstar magician, Criss Angel. With over two decades of dominating the world of magic, Criss Angel presents MINDFREAK, a spectacle that promises to overload your senses in what the Huffington Post calls “the magic event of a lifetime”.
He’s bringing some of his biggest illusions to the stage, backed by pyrotechnics, lighting, video, live music, and an interactive theater lobby installation too!
Dine at Cafe Hollywood
If you’re a fan of Hollywood, you will seriously enjoy this eatery. Cafe Hollywood is a celebration of all things Hollywood, featuring a multimedia celebration of iconic Planet Hollywood moments throughout its 30-year history.
The atmosphere is as lively as the menu, and it doesn’t hurt that the food here is great too! You’ll find a menu consisting of all-day breakfast, classic comfort food, gourmet twists on diner favorites, and even late-night bites.
Grab cocktails at Glass Bar
For a cocktail experience that oozes glitz and glamour, head to Glass Bar. The edgy ombre lighting, combined with ebony-stained wood and opulent brass accents, sets the stage for a luxurious lounge experience.
As you sip on the signature Fruit & Pebble cocktail, crafted with Bacardi Superior rum and zesty lime juice, you’ll be surrounded by thousands of shimmering crystal prisms, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that feels like a scene straight out of Hollywood.
This bar is a go-to spot for hotel guests looking to enjoy pre or post-show cocktails, so you’ll find it busiest during the hours before and after dinner time.
Try Earl of Sandwich
Earl of Sandwich isn’t your average sandwich joint—it’s a sandwich empire and a long-time favorite of Vegas-goers who just need a quick bite at a decent price!
If you’ve had Earl of Sandwich before, you can skip this one. But if you haven’t, you need to at least try it once in Vegas.
With warm and melty creations served on freshly baked bread, each bite is flavor-packed. It’s no wonder this place has a cult following—it’s simply sandwich perfection.
And it makes for a pretty convenient dinner when you just need something to eat right before seeing a show or hitting the clubs! They now have a breakfast menu too.
Gordon Ramsay Burger
Gordon Ramsay Burger emulates a typical burger and milkshake joint…but with a little oomph. As the brainchild of the legendary Hell’s Kitchen chef himself, these burgers are culinary masterpieces.
The gourmet beef patties are cooked over an open flame using prime cuts of meat. Whether you go for a classic beef patty or opt for something more adventurous like the Hell’s Kitchen Burger (asadero cheese, roasted jalapeños, avocado, roasted tomatoes, jalapeño aïoli), you’re going to appreciate the meat you’re biting into.
These babies are considered gourmet burgers, so expect each burger to cost anywhere from $25-30!
The milkshakes are a treat too. They combine traditional shake ingredients with creamy pudding for an indulgent dessert experience! You’ll also find an extensive selection of cocktails as well as craft and bottled beers.
Walk the Strip up to Caesars Palace
Despite the walk to Caesars Palace being a 13-minute straight shot, you probably won’t just be walking straight there.
Along the way, you’ll pass by iconic hotels like The Cosmo, Bellagio, Paris Las Vegas, and Horseshoe Las Vegas. All of these resorts are worth popping into and exploring.
Of course, you can walk even further than Caesars Palace for a full day of exploration of the Strip, but this route alone will take you at least 2-3 hours if you stop into all the hotels you pass along the way.
It’s a great filler activity to fit into your day between lunch and dinner (or between dinner and your nighttime festivities).
Hang out by the pool
Rooftop pools, Las Vegas Strip views – what more could you really ask for? Planet Hollywood features the ultimate Las Vegas poolside social retreat. You could even bring your own pool floats to lounge on! Capture your incredible Vegas Instagram moment in a cabana or as you hang ten on the Strip’s only professional free-standing wave, the FlowRider.
And if you happen to show up on a day when a DJ is spinning up some tunes, the pool becomes an electrifying party! Be sure to check their events calendar if you plan on hanging by the pool during your visit.
PRO TIP: Las Vegas pool season typically runs from March to October.
Get a massage or have a spa day
Spend some quality “me time” at the 32,000 square-foot Reflections spa featuring 35 treatment rooms, including six couple’s rooms. Like many Las Vegas spas on the Strip, Reflections offers a variety of custom therapeutic services and natural products to revitalize the mind and body.
You can also enjoy the use of the spa facilities with the purchase of any spa treatment or by purchasing a spa day pass. Spa amenities include a steam room, sauna, hot tub, and relaxation lounge with a variety of healthy snacks and beverages.
HIT THE GYM: If you’re a hotel guest, your resort fee includes complimentary access to PH’s 1,800 sq. ft. fitness center, equipped with cardio machines, strength equipment, and free weights.

Everyone’s drink of choice at Fat Tuesday differs depending on who you ask, but our group loves to order the Big Stick flavor off their secret menu, which tastes like a Big Stick ice pop but with alcohol!
