17 Top Things To Do At The Wynn and Encore Las Vegas

Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas are total playgrounds for grown-ups, with endless opportunities for fun, whimsy, relaxation, partying, and indulgence. Even the lobby where you first enter the hotel has a show-stopping wow factor with its fun displays of colorful plants and flowers.

These displays are just a preview of all the fun you can have at the Wynn/Encore!

I can’t think of any Vegas trip Papu and I have taken that didn’t involve a stop at Wynn or Encore. Whether it be partying at XS or EBC, gorging on unlimited crab legs, or enjoying the pools, we are always there for one reason or another. We love it there so much.

There’s the seafood buffet, set in a room that looks like something Alice from Alice in Wonderland would dream of. The shows at Wynn are also unbeatable, from the free Lake of Dreams show to the epically-produced Awakening show.

And this is just the start! There are a lot more things to do at the Wynn and Encore! Trust me, once you experience this resort for yourself, you’ll never want to leave.

Watch the Awakening show

Awakening at Wynn Las Vegas

Set inside the most technologically advanced theater in the world, Awakening is Wynn’s brand-new spectacular production that will have you gasping in awe and delight with its dazzling visuals, compelling narrative, and a touch of lighthearted comedy.

Honestly after watching it for myself, I’ll tell you it’s impossible to get sleepy during the show. This show is a bomb to all your senses, in the best way possible!

At the core of Awakening is a hero’s quest to confront the forces of Light and Darkness. The protagonist, known as IO, encounters a colorful cast of characters, both human and fantastical, as she navigates the challenges that unfold in her mission to reunite opposing forces and save the world.

The show is a collaborative masterpiece by true entertainment legends — Bernie Yuman, Baz Halpin, and Michael Curry. Anthony Hopkins narrates the enthralling storyline, too!

NOTE: Apparently, the original version of the show was a bit slow and ‘just okay’ (our Vegas-based friends watched this version when it first came out). The new and improved version (the one that we personally saw) was AMAZING. A must-watch that very likely beats most other shows in Vegas!

Go clubbing at XS

XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas

When the sun goes down, XS Nightclub comes to life. This place is legendary, known for its killer DJs and vibes that will have you dancing all night long.

Regarded as one of the world’s most sophisticated nightclubs, XS elevates the nightlife experience with elegance and passion. With both indoor and outdoor areas, the club’s unique features include pyrotechnics, LEDs, lasers, and an in-the-round DJ booth visible from every corner.

XS offers two distinctive experiences, from bottle service on the dance floor to luxurious cabanas surrounding the Encore pool.

Hit the pool parties at Encore Beach Club

Encore Beach Club

And if you’re more of a daytime party person, you can’t miss Encore Beach Club. Encore Beach Club is essentially a daytime pool party, but way cooler because you’re going to have the best DJs performing while you dance, drink, and mingle the afternoon away.

Spanning 55,000 square feet, this lush oasis boasts three tiered pools surrounded by 40-foot palm trees. Guests who want to upgrade their experience can enjoy chaise lounges, couches, and day beds with private safes.

If you need a break from dancing and vibing, you can head to the gaming pavilion, providing a lively space for blackjack or craps enthusiasts.

In the evening, Encore Beach Club hosts their Night Swim, where the club transforms into a chic and upscale party environment, offering equally as great DJ appearances as you’ll find at XS.

Watch the free Lake Of Dreams show

Lake Of Dreams Wynn Las Vegas

If you don’t get the chance to watch Awakening, the next best thing is Wynn’s free nightly show, Lake of Dreams.

This enchanting environmental theater features a mountain rising 140 feet high, adorned with over 1,500 trees and a coursing waterfall. Shimmering with 4,000 color-changing lights, the Lake of Dreams combines light, water, horticulture, architecture, music, and a massive singing frog to deliver a multi-media sensory experience unlike any other on The Strip.

The shows run nightly every half-hour from dusk until 12:30 a.m. It’s open to the public! You can watch it while dining in the patios at SW Steakhouse or Lakeside, or enjoying cocktails at Bar Parasol.

See the over-the-top floral carousel

Carousel at Wynn Las Vegas

One of the coolest free attractions at Wynn Las Vegas is the carousel and hot air balloon structures made entirely of flowers.

Designed by renowned event designer Preston Bailey, known for his spectacular public art installations around the world, the carousel and hot air balloon are not just static displays but animated marvels that actually move.

Be sure to appreciate the intricate details of these floral masterpieces! It’s not every day you get to see such opulence.

While you’re here, you can snap some pictures of/with the lobby decor. You’ll feel like you’re in a rainforest made of thousands of tiny lights. During certain holidays, you’ll even find little additions to further spice up the area with festiveness (Lunar New Year, Christmas, etc.).

SW Steakhouse

SW Steakhouse is the epitome of what a high-end steakhouse in Vegas looks, feels, and tastes like. This place is all about luxury and indulgence, with a menu that features prime steaks, fresh seafood, and decadent sides.

One standout dish that consistently receives rave reviews is the Australian Wagyu Tomahawk Chop. This entree is a true indulgence for steak lovers, featuring a thick, juicy cut of Wagyu beef cooked to perfection and served on the bone for added flavor and visual appeal. Expect exceptional marbling, a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and unparalleled richness!

Plus, the ambiance is unbeatable, with elegant decor and prime views of the Lake of Dreams show. Trust me, one bite of their famous ribeye, and you’ll be hooked!

Enjoy the Seafood Spectacular at The Buffet

The Buffet at Wynn

Sixteen live-action exhibition cooking stations! Doesn’t that say it all? But actually, it does get better.

The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas redefines the seafood dinner experience with their brand-new Seafood Spectacular! This daily seafood buffet is served daily from 1–9 pm and features all kinds of seafood goodness.

They’ve added a whole bunch of new items to the menu, including lobster claws, steamed crab legs, a seafood boil, and even caviar! You’ll also find seafood paella, seared tuna togarashi, fish and chips with truffle fries, stuffed sole, salmon, seabass tacos, and other completely new seafood dishes.

All the classics are here too, from butcher-inspired cuts to shrimp cocktail, sushi, and more. In total, you’ll find more than 120 delicious dishes, including a wide range of made-to-order choices and a fully-expanded carving station.

Mizumi

Mizumi is Japanese cuisine at its finest! This gem is a feast for the senses, with a menu that showcases the finest ingredients and traditional techniques. From sushi and sashimi to robatayaki and teppanyaki, every dish is a work of art.

At Mizumi, one of the must-order dishes that guests rave about is the Sashimi Platter. This exquisite platter typically features a chef’s selection of the freshest and most premium cuts of sushi and sashimi, beautifully presented and expertly crafted by the talented chefs at Mizumi.

And the setting? Picture-perfect, with serene gardens, a tranquil waterfall, and views of the Wynn’s iconic waterfall. It’s the ultimate dining experience for fine dining foodies and Instagrammers alike.

Allegro

Allegro Wynn Las Vegas

If Italian is more to your taste, head to Allegro at Wynn Las Vegas. At Allegro, you can indulge in a menu that celebrates the flavors of Italy while enjoying the lively atmosphere of this bustling eatery.

The menu at Allegro features a variety of classic Italian dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients and traditional techniques. You can choose from a selection of pastas and pizzas, but the one dish that stands out as a must-order at Allegro is the Truffle Tagliolini.

Made with delicate strands of tagliolini pasta tossed in a creamy truffle-infused sauce and topped with generous shavings of black truffle, this dish is a true indulgence for the senses.

Be sure to save room for dessert and indulge in one of Allegro’s decadent sweet treats, such as the classic tiramisu or the creamy panna cotta!

Wing Lei

The duck skin was deliciously crispy!

Craving something with a little more Chinese flair? Look no further than Wing Lei, the first Chinese restaurant in the U.S. to be awarded a Michelin star.

Here, you’ll find a fusion of Cantonese, Shanghai, and Szechuan flavors, all expertly crafted by renowned chef Ming Yu.

The one dish you must get? The Peking Duck! It’s a masterpiece, bursting with bold flavors and impeccable presentation. You can also opt to turn the remaining duck bones into a flavorful soup.

And while you enjoy your meal, the opulent decor and intimate atmosphere will certainly add to your unforgettable experience! Unlike most Chinese restaurants where it’s bustling and loud, your experience at Wing Lei will be calm, tranquil, and luxurious. The service is also amazing!

Pamper yourself at the spas

The Spa At Encore

Now, if you’re in need of some serious pampering (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), head over to one of the two spas at Wynn and Encore. They are basically heaven on earth, with luxurious treatments that will leave you feeling like royalty.

With not one, but TWO Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award-winning spas, Wynn Las Vegas invites guests to rejuvenate in luxurious surroundings. The spas feature refreshing pools, lush gardens, specialty treatments, and full-service salons. Both spas provide separate women’s and men’s facilities with showers, steam room, sauna, hot and cold plunge pools and experience showers.

The spa located within the Wynn Tower is 37,000 square feet, with 45 individual treatment rooms and one couples’ suite for massage, body treatments, facials and hydrotherapy.

The spa at Encore specializes in techniques from around the world to create the ultimate relaxation experience. The 61,000-square-foot facility features 37 treatment rooms, 14 naturally-lit garden suites and four oversized couples’ suites.

Go shopping

Wynn Plaza Shops

And of course, what’s a trip to The Wynn without a little retail therapy? Whether you’re exploring the upscale Wynn Plaza Shops or taking a leisurely stroll through the Wynn Esplanade, you’ll find all the designer brands and boutiques your heart desires.

The shopping esplanades house a curated collection of luxury brands, including Alexander McQueen, Canada Goose, Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Hermés, Louis Vuitton, RIMOWA, and Rolex.

While the Esplanade shops have been there for a while, the Wynn Plaza Shops is a new retail offering, featuring equally as great wellness, dining, and retail experiences tailored for the Wynn clientele.

See the balloon “Tulips”

Tulips Jeff Koons Wynn Las Vegas

When it comes to art, Steve Wynn doesn’t hold back, especially when it comes to his admiration for Jeff Koons’ work. And with a man of Wynn’s stature, having a fan like him means having someone with quite a bit of spending power.

Thanks to all that money spent, we now get to enjoy the Tulips sculpture located at the Wynn Plaza Shops! Purchased for a staggering $33.6 million, this isn’t your ordinary bouquet of tulips – these are balloon tulips, larger than life and bursting with a myriad of bright colors.

They’re made of mirror-polished stainless steel with transparent color coating. The outcome? Such a fun and massive sculpture!

Spend some time at the pools

Pool at Wynn Las Vegas

If some fun in the sun is what you’re after, continue the fun at the outdoor pool complex at The Wynn and Encore. Both The Pool at Wynn and The Pool at Encore feature multiple bars, food service, and a little sundry shop in case you forgot a bathing suit or sunscreen.

At The Wynn Pool specifically, you’ll find a family pool, an adults-only pool, and even a European-style pool (top-optional, even though most people wore their swimming tops while we were here).

All of the pools have plenty of loungers and lovely views of the whimsical garden landscaping all around you — you’ll feel like you’re in a scene of Alice In Wonderland!

Have brunch at Tableau

Tableau Wynn Las Vegas

Wynn might be known for a ton of fine dining options, but they’ve got (relatively) casual eateries too, like Tableau.

Tableau’s menu builds on seasonal ingredients for market-fresh breakfast, lunch and brunch dishes like Belgian waffles with whipped cream and strawberries, lobster Cobb salad with buttermilk dressing, and seared salmon with bacon braised chard.

You can enjoy breakfast here as you start your day, with the hard decision of choosing to dine indoors or poolside on the patio. We recommend the outdoor patio because of how cute it is!

Dine at Casa Playa

Casa Playa at Encore Las Vegas

Encore Las Vegas’ newest restaurant brings the best ingredients and flavors from Mexico’s Baja California to Las Vegas!

Casa Playa is a coastal Mexican restaurant that focuses on fresh seafood, seasonal ingredients and a housemade masa program. Helmed by Executive Chef Sarah Thompson, selections are sustainably sourced from Mexico’s Pacific coastline.

The menu is designed to be enjoyed family-style, with many interactive large-format dishes that build on each other, including the pork belly al pastor and whole snapper tempura, accompanied by housemade tortillas.

The beverage program is equally as impressive, especially if you’re a fan of tequila and mezcal! Expect specialty cocktails that are fun, bright, and innovative, like the spicy yet cooling Obsidian margarita.

Play a round of golf

Feeling sporty? Tee off at the Wynn Golf Club, a championship course designed by the one and only Tom Fazio.

The Wynn Golf Club features an 18-hole championship course and despite its central location on the Strip, the course spans over 129 acres! You won’t even remember that you’re on the Las Vegas Strip when you’re on the course!

Getting a tee time at the Wynn Golf Club is relatively straightforward. Guests of the Wynn and Encore resorts can easily book tee times through the concierge or by calling the golf club directly. Non-guests can also book tee times, although availability may vary depending on demand.

Essential Tips For Visiting Wynn and Encore Las Vegas

  • Self-parking here is complimentary for hotel guests and day visitors (3 hours free for day visitors) — these days many Strip hotels are charging for parking. Thanks, Wynn/Encore!
  • Take advantage of the free attractions! While the resort may be known for its glitzy-ness and 5-star opulence, there are plenty of free attractions to enjoy at Wynn and Encore. Don’t miss the floral installations by the lobby, the Lake of Dreams show, and art pieces throughout the property.
  • XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club are hands down the most upscale options when it comes to clubbing and partying. If you’re into partying, plan to spend a night out at one of these hotspots.
  • Make dinner reservations in advance. Wynn and Encore boast some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas, but they can get booked up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays like Valentine’s Day or Christmas. Be sure to make dinner reservations well in advance, especially for popular spots like Mizumi and SW Steakhouse.
  • With so much to do on just one joint property, one of the best ways to experience it all is to book a room at Wynn or Encore and make it your home base as you explore Las Vegas. If Wynn/Encore is out of your budget (because let’s be real, the rooms are not cheap there), there’s always The Venetian and Palazzo located just next door, or Resorts World just across the away.
  • Need water during your stay? Head to the pool area to refill your bottle with ice-cold water or go for a workout at the gym. You’ll find free mini water bottles there.
